The development and subsequent sale of real estate by legal entities can be tax-challenging, especially if the legal entity is taxable in different cantons. The revised, harmonized accounting model (HRM 2) for public administrations has been mandatory for the municipalities of the canton of Solothurn since January 1, 2016. The new principles are increasingly based on private sector accounting standards. At a later date (probably in 2021), the annual accounts of the churches and municipalities will also be transferred to the provisions of HRM 2.<\/p>\n
